B. PAST TENSE
1. SIMPLE PAST TENSE
Inti dari Past Tense adalah untuk menyatakan peristiwa yang telah “Lampau”. Lampau disini tak harus sudah lama-lama amat juga, pokoknya sudah berlalu, sudah lewat.
Rumus Past Tense:
Positif: S + V2
Negatif: S + did not + V1
Tanya: Did + S + V1
Contoh kalimat :
Positif : I saw her standing there
Negatif : I did not see her standing there
Tanya : did i see he standing there ?
2. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
Past Continuous Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan peristiwa yang SEDANG TERJADI juga, tetapi sedang terjadi sekarang, melainkan sedang terjadi tetapi DULU, tetapi sudah lewat.
Rumus Past Continuous Tense
Positif: S + was/were + Ving
Negatif: S + was/were + NOT + Ving
Tanya: Was/Were + S + Ving
Contoh kalimat
Positif : I was writing
Negatif : I was NOT writing
Tanya : Was I writing ….?
3. PAST PERFECT TENSE
Rumus Past Perfect Tense
Positif: S + had + V3
Negatif: S + had + not + V3
Tanya: Had + S + V3
Contoh kalimat
Positif : I had studied hard but I didn’t make good result in the exam.
Negatif : I had not studied hard, so I didn’t make good result in the exam.
Tanya : Had You studied hard ?
4.PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Rumus Past Perfect Continuous Tense
Positif:S + had + been + Ving
Negatif: S + had + not + been + Ving
Tanya: Had + S + been + Ving
Contoh kalimat
Positif : They had been playing football.
Negatif : They had not been playing football.
Tanya : Had They been playing football?.
